Australis Cosmetics is definitely one of my favourite brands to get at the 'drugstore' (well, what we call Farmers here in NZ). I use many of their products regularly and have loved a lot of them that I've tried. Their Mineral Lipsticks are awesome, the Brow Pencil is my go-to every single day (see it in this haul here) and the Velourlips have matte, long lasting lip colour covered. I was recently sent a very generous goodie bag packed with some products to try out and review, so here is the selection of some of their base products.
AC Love CC Colour Correcting Cream in Nude* // AUD $12.95 or NZD $18.00
I love a BB cream, generally they are light weight, have a decent amount of coverage and are good for everyday wear. I've yet to get into the CC cream thing though, but this one has me convinced of their power. Basically it's a correcting cream, meaning it should help to cover any redness, darker pigment etc. I thought this was going to be quite light in coverage, but surprisingly this gives pretty amazing coverage and really helps to neutralise redness and even the skin tone. I've been reaching for this over my BB creams and even foundations, using my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge to blend it in and that's job done. It has a satin/powder like finish to the skin, and wears well through out the day, only settling into my pores near the end of a long day. It comes in three shades, Nude, Natural and Dark.
Pressed Powder in Deep Natural* // AUD $11.95 or NZD $18.00
I've been wanting to try this out for a long time, so was very happy to have this sent out to me. This is a pressed powder that has a lot of colour to it and could almost be used as a very light foundation if you wanted a lighter coverage and diminish any shine. I've been using this daily to set down my base products and I blimin' love it! The colour is a perfect match for me, it blends onto the skin well, a little goes a long way and it sets everything down as well as giving a hint more coverage to the skin. I now have a new favourite powder (sorry Rimmel Stay Matte).
Full On Foundation SPF 30 in Nude* // AUD $12.95 or NZD $18.00
Stick foundations baffle me a bit, I instantly have this feeling that they will drag on the skin and be terrible to blend out, but this has convinced me otherwise. This promises 'heavy coverage' and when I read that I was a bit scared about how it would look and blend out etc, but it's actually very easy to use. I basically swipe war paint style stripes around my face and then go in with a buffing brush to blend it all out together and follow up with my RT Sponge for the final blending. It definitely delivers on heavy coverage, but I don't find that it looks very heavy on the skin once blended out well. As far as lasting power goes, things got a little oily around my nose around the 3 hour mark so I did find I need to powder it well so it would stick around on my skin. There are six shades available in this foundation range.
If you are in NZ and Australia, Australis products are readily available and very affordable. You can get them at Farmers and some pharmacies around NZ, and if you are in Aus you can buy direct from the website but unfortunately they don't ship outside of Australia just yet. I'm really impressed with these three products I tried out and I know I'll be getting a lot of use from them!
Have you used any of these products? Do you have a favourite from the Australis line?
