REVLON | Colorburst Lip Butters - Review + Swatches

REVLON // Colorburst Lip Butters Review + Swatches - cassandramyee

Revlon do some pretty amazing lip products (Matte Balms - I'm lookin' at you) and their range of Lip Butters is no exception. These lip products have been out for years now, so they're nothing new, but I think they are great lip products, so I thought I'd share my little collection.

My collection includes a fleet of four shades from the range of around 20, going from light pink to a darker berry shade. I really love the packaging of the lip butters, each shade is easily identifiable by the outside lid and the quilted pattern not only helps with grip but just looks very nice. It has a simple twist up barrel with the lip butter having a flat slanted tip.

The Lip Butters are perfectly named - they glide on smoothly and deposit a sheer coating of colour to the lips which in most cases can be built up, but don't go expecting full opaque colour with these ones. They feel like a balm on the lips and are so comfortable to wear, due to this they don't last for ages but they are totally non-fussy to reapply over and over when you need it. According to the Revlon website they include mango, shea and coconut butter to help hydrate and moisturise and during the Winter this is definitely what I am looking for for my lips

045 COTTON CANDY
This is my latest addition to the Lip Butters and it has the sheerest colour pay-off from the four I own. It is a light baby pink, with a little bit of gold reflex through it, but it just enhances the glossy finish without looking overly glittery.

060 GUMDROP
I think this one is my fave from the lot and is a nice way to wear a purple lip if you aren't used to it. This definitely has quite a bit of pigmentation to it and is quite cool-toned.

075 LOLLIPOP
This is a vibrant fuchsia pink and out of the four this one has the best pigmentation and you can go quite full on with this one.

085 SUGAR PLUM
My very first Lip Butter I owned and the one I feel in love with right away. This lends toward the deeper berry side of things, with a hint of brown tones.

And here you have the swatches. Lollipop definitely stands out as the most pigmented from the lot, with Sugar Plum close behind. The lighter shades don't show up as well but that is what I like about them as often times very pastel shades can really wash you out but these ones inject a bit of colour and work with your natural lip shade. The have a very glossy, balmy finish as you can see, so if you like 'em matte and opaque these won't be for you, that's for sure! I have a lot of love for the Lip Butters and they are the perfect in between lip product which is not a tinted lip balm, nor an opaque lipstick.

Do you own any of these Lip Butter? Do you have a favourite shade?
