StrawberryNet is a site I have often browsed on but have never actually brought anything off it, although I know many people who have. It is a great site to find high end and lower end brands for very affordable prices. All products are authentic and they also offer free worldwide shipping, just an added bonus. When I was contacted to review this Fusion Beauty Ultraflesh Shinebox I was beyond excited as it looked like a very cool makeup kit, and I wasn't wrong!
This ultra compact kit has 3 levels containing various products for your cheeks and eyes; dubbed the Highlight + Shimmer Collection. Each level swings out from the top and can rotate around 360°, which means you can access all the products at once or just use one layer while the others are closed up. Each product compliments the next and can be used to create a number of different looks and combinations.
ANYPLACE
The first level holds the product named as Anyplace and it is a velvety soft powder which can be used as an eye shadow or a blush. It is well pigmented, pink rose gold shade with subtle hints of gold shimmer through out. I like to sweep it on the cheeks to enhance a bronzey look but love to use it as an all over shadow, as I find it blends well and wears all day.
ANYWHERE + ANYTIME
The second level reveals 2 cream products, which again have dual purpose - as a highlighter or as I find best, used as a cream shadow. Again the pigmentation is great and the products are creamy enough to blend out but they almost set as a powder like finish. Anywhere is a light creamy, gold shade and Anytime is a pearly pink. They both have shimmer through out, but it is subtle and not like obvious glitter pieces.
ALL OVER SHIMMER
The final compartment holds 2 small twist up stick products which are labelled as All Over Shimmer - a name which confused me quite a lot. To use these as 'all over shimmer's' just didn't seem to work, but I found the best way was as eye products, particularly as eyeliners. Secret Shimmer [top swatch] is a pearl white cream product that I found works great in the inner corner of the eyes to brighten and highlight. Nude Shimmer [bottom swatch] is almost a stick form of the Anytime cream shadow and is a pink/nude colour. This is great used as a shadow on the upper lid or used as a liner on the inner bottom rim to brighten the eye and add a subtle shimmer hint. They are both very soft and creamy products so you don't have to wind them up much, or else you will break the stick [and trust me it can get a little messy!]
I think the concept of this is really clever; it is compact and secure, making it great for travel or chucking in your bag. I find the labels Anytime, Anywhere etc to be quite odd and not entirely indicative of what each product should be used for. But the powder and cream products are high quality, with great pigmentation, which really makes the kit worth its money.
