EMPTIES | March '18 - CassandraMyee

To say I've been slacking in the blog post department is an understatement, this might be the longest I've gone without posting something on here and I feel pretty damn guilty about it! I have been quite busy with other things going on, but honestly, I think I just wasn't totally feeling it. It's important to recognise those sorts of feeling and an unintentional break was what I needed. But in saying that, now it's time to get back into it, so here are my belated empty products that I finished throughout March.

Tresemme Expert Botanique Moroccan Argan Oil & Keratin Smooth Remedy Conditioner*
As always I managed to get through a conditioner quicker than my shampoo, I don't know how it happens as I swear I use the same amount each time! I was sent this new range a few months back and as an avid user of Tresemme, I was excited to try this 'botanical' range and it was noticeably better than some of their other ranges. My hair was smooth and soft but didn't feel at all heavy. It's a great price point and something I would likely buy again.

L'Oreal Wild Styles Mineral Powder Fixing Spray*
I am not without some sort of hairspray or texturising spray and I really enjoy this one from L'oreal. I have been through two cans of it now and would certainly buy more! It gives texture and a bit of light hold to the hair without it feeling crunchy or too weighed down.

Soap + Glory The Rushower Scent-sational Dry Shampoo
This was in an Empties maybe last month and I think it will be a regular occurrence because this has fast become my favourite dry shampoo. It just works so well; it leaves no grey cast to my dark hair and feels lightweight. The scent is great and the price is even better at NZD $7 for this big can which you can now get at Mecca Maxima stores.

L'Oreal Paris Revitalift Rejuvenating Makeup Removing Wipes*
As far as makeup wipes go these ones were nice to use, removed makeup well (not good on stubborn eye or lip makeup though) but didn't strip the skin and left you feeling fresh after. I didn't use them all that much on my face, but they were used to remove loads of swatches from my arms while taking blog photos!

Kiehl's Calendula Herbal Extract Alcohol-Free Toner [Limited edition packaging]*
This much-loved toner was repackaged for Christmas last year and I was kindly sent it to try out. I always use a toner and have done since my teen years, it's an underrated but very important step in any skincare routine. This toner features hand inserted Calendula flower petals to help cleanse and soothe the skin, designed for those specifically with oily/combination skin types. I really liked the toner and found it helped to remove excess makeup and left me feeling extra clean but not dried out. The one thing I wasn't so keen on was the flower bits which near the end started clogging the opening of the bottle and felt a bit slimy on the skin. I ended up having to pick them off before using the cotton round on my skin.

Go-To Properly Clean Foaming Cleanser*
There is something about foaming cleanser in that they just last for ages! It is definitely not a bad thing and I managed to get months of daily use from this one from super cool Aussie brand Go-To Skincare. You can see more details about it and their other products here, but it is such a nice cleanser, filled with great ingredients and refreshed my skin every morning in the shower.

SkinMe Moisturise Me*
I've talked about NZ natural brand SkinMe in an Empties before (see it here), and was really impressed with their cleanser and this moisturiser delivered as well. All of their products are cruelty-free and made in NZ using lots of high-quality ingredients. This moisturiser was so lightweight but provided the perfect amount of moisture to my skin, it sat well under makeup and it always felt great to apply.

Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream Moisturiser*
This is the second tub I have been through of this and continued to really enjoy it. It was a bit heavier than other moisturisers (such as the SkinMe) so I would tend to use this more in the evening. It would be a great one for more mature skin as it contains a lot of powerful ingredients to help prevent signs of aging.

Maybelline Eye + Lip Make Up Remover x2
A common feature in my most of empties and probably needs no introduction. This is my go-to for removing my eye makeup as it does it with ease, minimal rubbing and doesn't sting at all.

Fresh Rose Lip Balm in Sugar
This looks a little battered but only because it has been in my handbag and is well used! This feels amazing on the lips and the slight tint gives a good flush of natural-looking colour. My lips always felt so soft after using it and it is definitely something I want in my life again!

Colourpop Brow Boss Pencil in Brunette
Another favourite product is the brow pencils from Colourpop, these ones are rivals for any of the higher end offerings from the likes of Benefit and Anatasia but are a fraction of the price. The Brow Boss is a bit stiffer and creates a more natural looking brow compared to their other Brow Pencil (which I also love). I have a few backups of these all ready to go!

Soap + Glory Hand Food
I don't know how they do it but S+G have some of the best smelling products and this hand cream is so nice to use. Not only does it smell amazing, it's handbag friendly, non-greasy and sinks in to the skin right away. I have a couple of tubes of these waiting to be used.
