Every 6 months, Maybelline drop a whole bunch of new products into the market that are always of the time and very on trend. As I do with the new products I get, they go into a mega post which outlines what I think of these new products with swatches etc so you can decide for yourself what might be worth checking out and adding into your current makeup routine. There are some AMAZING products in this new line-up, so keep on reading to learn a whole lot more.
FACE
Master Camo Colour Correcting Kit* | NZD $24.99
Colour correcting products have had a huge resurgence this year with most brands bringing out their own alternatives. This kit has six shades in all designed to colour correct problem areas, there are a yellow, green, peach and a more neutral traditional concealer tone as well as a shimmery cream highlighter which is subtle but really beautiful. I find these to be a bit lighter than others I have tried but they do a good job at counteracting problem areas and. They are creamy and blend out well.
Master Strobing Liquid Illuminating Highlighter* | NZD $16.99
If you want a 'bam' in your face, super wet looking highlighter look no further than this one. I love this product - I think it's best applied before foundation, especially focused on the high points of your cheeks as it gives your foundation a more natural radiance to it. It also works well over the top of the skin with a little bit going a long way. It is definitely one of the best products from this drop!
Master Blush + Highlighting Kit* | NZD $22.99
These palettes definitely got my attention with the gorgeous shades and I also love the geometric embossing on the pans. Now, these are all very shimmery in the pan but they don't translate too much on the skin. They are very pigmented though so you only need to dip your brush in very lightly to get the full effect. The highlighting shade is really lovely and is your classic pearly champagne.
Master Bronze + Highlighting Kit* | NZD $22.99
If you want bronzed glowing skin, this palette is definitely going to give you that. The shades are all on the warmer side, so they aren't going to suit if you are quite pale or have a cooler complexion. I think for summer this will be a winner and the shimmery shades are just going to enhance that sunkissed glow. The powders are again very pigmented but easy to work with.
EYES
HyperSharp Wing Liquid Liner* | NZD $22.99
I love a good liquid liner and this one is perfect if you want a very thin and precise line. The brush allows you to create two different line thicknesses and gives you full control of how you want your liner to look. The colour payoff is good, but it could be a little more black in my opinion.
Brow Precise Perfecting Highlighter* | NZD $14.99
To get those super sharp and defined brows like you might see on Instagram, most of the time they use a concealer to clean up the edges which give those crisp lines. This product here does that with the ease and convenience of having a square-shaped slanted tip so you can drag is right along the bottom and top of the brows once you have filled them in to give them more definition. I find this blends really easily and works well to clean up the brows. It is a matte colour so while it brightens and lifts, it doesn't look shimmery.
Tattoo Brow 3 Day Gel Tint* | NZD $24.99
If there is one product that has been getting a lot of hype, it is this one. A very innovative product that gives you the 'look' of a brow tattoo without the full commitment. I was so intrigued to try this out and is a product that has been adapted from Korean beauty who are always pioneers in interesting and new beauty products. My first use of this was a little bit of a disaster but now I feel like I have it got it down pat. The formula is very thick and takes a little bit to spread over the brow hairs, I find it is best to use an angled brow or liner brush to apply it so you can get the right shape because this stuff not only tints the brow hairs but also the skin too. A cotton bug or Q-tip helps as well to clean up the areas. I leave it on for about 30 mins to ensure it is fully dry and then peel off - it peels off surprisingly easy and doesn't take any hairs with it. Afterwards, you are left with a really good tint! I found by day 2 it definitely started to fade and the darker shade I have faded to more of a brown/red tone. By day 3 the 'tattoo' has basically gone. It probably would last longer if I wasn't using oil cleansers and removers to wash my face each night. I can myself using this a lot in the summer when I don't want to be wearing a lot of makeup but still, want to make my brows more defined. There are a few different shades and I would definitely recommend trying it out.
Volume'Express Colossal Big Shot Mascara* | NZD $24.99
Maybelline mascaras have always been some of my favourites ever since I started to wear makeup. The new Big Shot Mascara is one of the standouts that they have released recently and gives your lashes a whole load of volume and length. Also, the shiny gold packaging is very enticing! There is also a new mascara in The Falsies range - the Push-Up Angel Mascara* (NZD $24.99). I am yet to try this one as I have too many open right now. But this promises to give more fluttery and flared out looking lashes with a curved scoop wand.
LIPS
Color Sensational Inti-Matte Nudes Lipstick* | NZD $19.99 each
Nude lipstick lovers rejoice because this new range is INCREDIBLE. I have been absolutely loving these lipsticks, there isn't a shade I don't like and the formula is WOW. They are incredibly creamy and pigmented in one swipe, they are matte but don't feel drying and just look amazing on the lips. I really could not recommend this range enough, and that blush packaging though - so on point!
Colour Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid Lipstick* | NZD $19.99
I have reviewed the entire initial release of these here, and now they are expanding the range with some more neutral shades. The name I find is very misleading, as these don't dry down matte like you might expect, instead, they have a satin/semi-matte finish to them but will transfer and aren't as long-lasting as your usual liquid lipstick. If you aren't into the matte lipstick trend, these are a good in between and these two new shades are really on trend.
SuperStay 24h Longwear Lip Color* | NZD $23.99
The final product is some new shades in their SuperStay range. These have a two-part process where you apply the liquid lipstick which is very pigmented and then use Step 2 which is clear to literally seal the colour in. These don't budge, or transfer at all and really do last for hours on end.
