Almost every beauty brand is bringing out some form of a contour kit - I feel like over the past 6 months it has exploded in the beauty market and I just can't keep up! In Maybelline's latest drop of releases, they brought out their offering of a contour palette - the Master Contour by Face Studio*.
I feel as though I have tried my fair share of contour kits; some I've liked but some I've not warmed too. What I like in a contour palette is a non-shimmery, ashier toned contour shade, and a highlight that isn't too glittery, but one that leaves more of a sheen. If they have a blush in it, that's just an added bonus. The Maybelline Master Contour offers all three of those and comes in two shades, Light/Medium (above) and Medium/Dark.
The kit comes in rather chunky packaging, so it's not the most sleek, or travel makeup bag friendly. The palette includes a small brush which in my opinion is a little bit useless as it's the completely wrong size to do anything decent with it. SO that aside, the actual products are very nice to use. The bronzer/contour shade is a touch on the warm side, but it's nothing too extreme and creates a nice depth to the skin. The blush is a soft baby pink with a satin finish and the highlighter is more on the subtle side of the spectrum, but overall nice to use and blend. Is it the best contour kit I've used? Not really, but it is definitely up there and the inclusion of the blush is always good for those who don't want to have too many products floating around.
This contour kit is one of the cheaper ones available coming in at NZD $19.99 and is available where Maybelline is sold.
