It wouldn't be a new month without a brand new M.A.C collection to tempt us beauty lovers. The Flamingo Park collection is packed with pinks, bright reds and punchy oranges that remind me of Springtime picnics full of delicious sweet treats. This is the Spring 2016 collection, and despite the fact that we are going into Autumn here in New Zealand that isn't going to stop me from wearing these gorgeous shades. It's just as well Summer seems to be hanging on for a few more weeks!
The press imagery for this collection is gorgeous, as to be expected. Think Alice In Wonderland at the Mad Hatter's tea party infused with loads of pink, sugary treats. The collection reflects this in the tones and shades available, and there are loads of different finishes across the range with satins, mattes and metallics,
It's a pretty large collection that includes: Powder Blushes (6 shades - RRP $48.00*), Brush (129SH Powder/Blush - RRP $85.00), Technakohl Liners (2 shades - RRP $36.00), Haute & Naughty Lash Mascara (RRP $48.00), Beauty Powders (2 shades - RRP $48.00), Eye Shadows (6 shades - RRP $38.00), Pigments (3 shades - RRP $48.00), Studio Nail Lacquers (2 shades - RRP $26.00), Lipsticks (8 shades - RRP $40.00), Lip Pencils (3 shades - RRP $36.00) and Cremesheen Glasses (5 shades - RRP $48.00). They aren't all brand new shades however, in the lipstick line up for example, there are some famous shades already in the permanent line - Please Me and Saint Germain. There are also a couple of repromoted shades available from past collections.
*NB. All prices in NZD.
I was sent three products from the range to try out, all very pink and very girly, but stunning nonetheless!
Cremesheen Glass in Such Sweeties* | RRP $48.00
I'm not a huge lipgloss person, as I prefer a matte lip, but the Cremesheen Glasses from M.A.C are definitely one of my favourite gloss formulas. I find them non-sticky and they almost melt onto the lips and are hardly noticeable. I have the shade Such Sweeties, which is a pastel baby pink with a subtle blue micro shimmer through it. The shade is very light on the lips, but paired over a lipstick, it makes the lips look plump and juicy.
Matte Lipstick in Be Silly* | RRP $40.00
As I mentioned matte lipsticks are the one for me, particularly when it comes to such vibrant shades like this one. Be Silly is a hot fuchsia pink with amazing colour pay off; the above swatch shows two swipes. M.A.C matte lipsticks are really long lasting, but they do transfer throughout the day as they don't dry down completely like a liquid lipstick would. If you like bright pink shades, I would really suggest picking this one up!
Powder Blush in What I Fancy* | RRP $48.00
I adore M.A.C blushes, they always have good pigmentation but it isn't too strong and they blend well onto the skin. What I Fancy is a satin finish, although it does look very matte in the pan and is described as a soft, bright apricot, but it definitely leans more pink. I really like the shade as it adds a hint of colour without being over powering.
Flamingo Park is in all M.A.C stores and on counter now in New Zealand (it came out on Monday 7th) for a limited time only.
Will you be getting anything from this new collection?
