I honestly can't believe it's nearly the end of the first month of 2016 - already! Overall this month has been great, lots of relaxing and time with loved ones and friends, and also getting lots of 'life admin' done. It's been a productive start to the year! January was the month of trying out lots of amazing new products and here's a few that I've really been loving.
Makeup Revolution New-Trals Vs. Neutrals Professional Eye Shadow Palette*
I cannot get enough of this palette! I've been reaching for it loads and loving the unique combinations of shades in the palette, plus the mix of mattes and shimmers. This was kindly sent to me from Beauty Bliss to celebrate them stocking some Makeup Revolution items; it's well worth checking out this UK brand as they are affordable and amazing quality. I'll have a full review with swatches of this palette soon, but as a quick review - the pigmentation is beautiful, they blend well and it's only $18.00 - what a total steal.
M.A.C 133 Small Cheek Brush*
As my first foray into M.A.C brushes, this was an amazing introduction. It came out in the Faerie Whispers Collection (more info here), but is part of the permanent collection. I've been using it everyday mostly for highlighter. The bristles are so super soft and I find they blend out highlighter on the cheeks beautifully. It can also be used for blush too.
Becca x Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop*
If you follow me on Instagram, you'll know I've been absolutely loving this gorgeous highlighter. I picked it out as part of the Sephora NZ launch (haul here) and just am obsessed with how it looks on the skin. In conjunction with the M.A.C 133 Brush, this gives a radiant, champagne glow to the cheek bones that looks almost creamy and not overly glittery. The formula is incredible, and now I need to get more of their highlighters - Moonstone and Pearl, I'm coming for you!
Karen Walker C Eau De Parfum [50ml]
This was one of my amazing Christmas presents from my parents and has pretty much been the only scent I've been wearing in January. Obviously I wanted C out of three available (first letter of my name and all of that...), but I also adore the scent, which is described as a creamy, sensual floral - perfect for the warmer months. I've had a few compliments on it recently, so it must be doing it's job very well!
essie Nail Polish in Peach Side Babe*
Last month I was obsessed with Private Weekend, and this month I can't get enough of this gorgeous peach. It's part of the essie Summer 2015 Collection (full review and swatches of all six shades here) and I've currently got it on my toe nails and have had it on my nails too this month. The formula needed two coats for full opacity and the wide brush makes it so easy to coat the nails in one swipe.
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita*
I know I've been harping on about this any chance I get (i.e. Sephora haul and Things I Like #001) but it's seriously amazing. Formula wise it's very light on the lips, but has amazing pigmentation. It dries down to flat matte finish that doesn't transfer easily and barely feels like you have a matte product on. It's got amazing longevity and the colour is a beauty, described as a chestnut rose. Everyone needs this. Pronto.
