Earlier last month I did a big post featuring some of the amazing new Maybelline releases that have just come out in NZ (see it here), and I have managed to get my hands on a few of the other new products that have hit stores over the past month, including the much hyped Master Sculpt Contouring Palette. Most of them I've tried, so there's a few thoughts on each product.
Master Sculpt Contouring Palette in 01 Light/Medium* + 02 Medium/Dark | NZD $19.95
This was one of the products I was so excited to see was being released here in NZ. It's great to see these cheaper brands bring out some contouring options, and there isn't much like this in the NZ beauty market. This has a contouring colour on one side and a highlight on the other, in a compact that also has a decent mirror and flat contour brush under the pan. I was sent the lighter shade, but went out and bought the darker to compare, and as you can see there isn't a lot of difference. The lighter one does lean slightly orange, whereas I prefer the darker one as it's more cool toned. The highlighting shades are both the same and it makes a really nice highlight without being overly glittery.
Great Lash Real Impact! Mascara in 250 Blackest Black* | NZD $14.95
This mascara is a Maybelline cult classic and one I don't think I've used (or if I have it was ages ago and I don't remember it!) I'm yet to open this one, but once I do I'll be sure to give you some feedback on it.
Colour Molten Duo in Taupe Craze | NZD $14.00
After being sent two of the shades, I couldn't resist buying this one, as I love these colours! These have the strangest texture to them that is very hard to describe, but I really like them. They go on like a cream, but still have a powdery feeling to them. They work well as eyeshadow bases, and also look gorgeous on their own.
Brow Precise by Eye Studio in 225 Soft Brown* | NZD $18.95
I'm always hunting for a good brow pencil and something that will live up to the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz, sadly this one doesn't but it is pretty darn good. The pencil is stiff enough that you can get a defined shape from it and also keep it looking relatively natural in the brows. The spoolie on the other end is a great addition and running that through the brows softens the colour and tames the hairs to the shape you want.
Baby Lips Candy Wow! in Raspberry, Mixed Berry*, Peach + Cherry | NZD $7.50 each
I love the Baby Lips range; the tinted ones are great, but these are on another level. First, the packaging and colours are so enticing, and they have all the goodness of the original Baby Lips just with a bit more colour to them and in a twist up crayon format. I was surprised at the amount of colour you can get with them, and they're the perfect lip products for a lighter makeup day that is also hydrating too.
What do you think of the new releases? Have you tried any of these products yet?
