The newest release from Maybelline has come in the form of these gloss slash liquid lipstick hybrids, dubbed The Color Elixirs*. They have been out for a wee while now but I finally got my hands on one to try and I also have a sneaky wee giveaway at the very end of this post...
So what's the deal with these? Well first off, the Elixirs are housed to look like a lipstick in a sleek plastic tube, with a shiny silver lid, but inside it is actually a gloss like lip product. I have the shade 090 Rose Redefined and it can only be described as a rosey pink shade (well done Maybelline!)
Now I am not the biggest lip gloss person, but I'm slowly beginning to really enjoy them (case in point, this post here), so I wasn't sure how I would get along with this one but I actually really like it! The pigment is strong in these, they go on feeling quite thick but they don't have the awful stickiness to them, just enough tack that makes them last on the lips and not just come off on your morning coffee cup. The applicator hugs the lips perfectly and dispenses the perfect amount of product to the lips. They leave a shiny, glossy finish to the lips and after they wear away my lips still feel moisturised; these things are a little bit magic if you ask me!
