E.L.F. STUDIO | Beauty Book Natural Look Kit - Review + Swatches

If you're a reader of CM, you would have already seen this in my latest (and rather large) iHerb haul (here) where I promised a review with swatches of this e.l.f. Studio Beauty Book in Natural Look. I am a big fan of e.l.f. products and use many on a regular basis and considering how cheap they are, the quality is generally really good.

The Beauty Book comes with 6 eye shadows, an eyelid primer, and a mini eyeliner pencil as well as a double ended sponge applicator. For some reason I thought this was going to be quite small and compact but it is actually the size of normal book, so not the most travel friendly kit!

I think this would make a great starter sort of kit for someone as it has some great basis neutral shades as well as this handy guide to give you some ideas of how to create two different looks for day and night. But if you are a makeup lover like me, I think you should buy this purely for the shadows alone because as you will see they have really great colour pay off and gorgeous finish.

EYELID PRIMER IN SHEER [Full Size USD $1.99 here]
For the price of this shadow primer, it is really pretty impressive. It has a light flesh toned colour which blends out very easily onto the lids and just evens out the lid colour making it a great canvas for any shadows. It definitely helps them to last without fading or creasing, and often cheaper shadows need a bit of something to adhere them due to fall out.

BRIGHTENING EYELINER PENCIL IN COFFEE [Full Size USD $1.99 here]
Another mini product in the form of an eyeliner. To be honest I didn't have high hopes for this but it's not too bad. At first it felt a little bit hard and tough but after a bit of warming up it seems to glide on quite well. I use this along my top lash line and it is a nice change during the day instead of black, it also works really nice with the eye shadow shades.

EYE SHADOWS
The shadows are easily the stand out of this whole kit and I have actually depotted them out of this kit to fit them into a Z Palette, so I can take them travelling slash transport them around a little easier instead of them being in this big book thing. The selection is all very neutral with slight pink undertones in a couple of them - Day Base is a shimmery pink and Night Contour is a matte black base with pink glitters throughout, very similar to some shades in the UD Naked 3 palette. These are very pigmented and blend out well and with the primer underneath they will last you all day and/or night long.

This whole kit will only set you back USD $4.99, under NZD $6! It is a great basics kit and I think the eye shadows will be suitable for anyone! iHerb ship worldwide, to NZ there are two option the $4 option or the $8 option (which generally arrives in around a week!)
